To Sail Upon a Sea of Stars
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
On the eve of battle, play as Farida as she navigates a conversation and fights to save the life of a friend, as well as her own, before it's too late!
This is a short fan fiction game based on the amazing anime "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" by Kitty Films, which ran from 1988 to 1997. That, in turn, was based on a series of novels of the same name written by Yoshiki Tanaka. Although inspired by the aesthetic of the anime, all designs, including the ship and characters, as well as the story, are of my own making during the week allotted to the jam. The music at the end of the game is a reinterpretation of the song "Across a Bridge of Light" by Kei Ogura, which plays over the end credits for the first season of the anime.
This game was solo-developed by me, Omar Khouri, for the Brackeys Game Jam 2024.2. The theme was "Calm before the Storm". It was made using RPG Maker MZ, with the generous help of the RPG Maker online Community. Plugins used in-game by the amazing:

Install instructions
To run the Windows version, after unzipping the initial zipped folder, double click the "Game.exe" file and choose "extract all" when it asks you. Then click the "Game" file within the new folder to run.
To run the Mac version, after unzipping the initial zipped folder, take the file called "To Sail Upon a Sea of Stars" out of the folder and place it on your desk top or in the applications folder. When you first double click it, it will tell you that you "can't open because developer is unverified". After that, right click it, and you should be able to open it just fine.
