Thistopia
A downloadable game for Windows and macOS
What starts as a simple game of make-believe between 2 little girls and a bunch of dolls, gradually moves beyond expectation to a story of epic proportions, fueled by their powerful imagination (and yours), where they can process their personal trauma and try to make sense of the complex politics of the real world that surrounds them.
Play as Sura and tell a shared story with your best friend Lulwa, based on a number of choices and decisions that present themselves though out the game, such as genre, alignment and location, that have direct impact on the narrative. Choose 4 of 8 toys based, each with unique abilities and stats, to be your army; the remaining 4 will be your enemy controlled by Lulwa. Play a series fresh one-on-one JRPG battles to defeat enemy fighters, or turn them over to your side. The player with the most toys at the end of the game wins! But will external forces get in your way?
This game was solo-developed by me, omar khouri, for the RPG Maker 2025 Game Jam. The theme was "Beyond Expectations". It was made using RPG Maker MZ, with the generous help of the RPG Maker online Community. Plugins used in-game by the amazing:
- Team VisuStella: Yanfly, Arisu, Olivia, Irina
- MushroomCake28
- MechPen
- Aerosys
A heartfelt thanks to you all <3

Install instructions
To run the Windows version, after unzipping the initial zipped folder, double click the "Game.exe" file and choose "extract all" when it asks you. Then click the "Game" file within the new folder to run.
To run the Mac version, after unzipping the initial zipped folder, take the file called "Thistopia" out of the folder and place it on your desk top or in the applications folder. When you first double click it, it will tell you that you "can't open because developer is unverified". After that, right click it, and you should be able to open it just fine. If this does not work, you will have to go into your General Settings -> Privacy & Security and scroll down until you see a notification that says you tried to open a file that is not made by a verified developer, and click "Open Anyway".
